Procurement Manager, at our Carrollton, TX location.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role within the Merch by Amazon supply chain.
We are looking for a passionate leader with proven experience in vendor sourcing, complex modeling, and collaborating with global stakeholders.
In this role, you will define and implement our global procurement strategy for capital equipment and raw material goods.
The right candidate is detail-oriented, builds strong relationships and has a relentlessly positive attitude.
Responsibilities Define requirements for purchasing needs, then work to identify the best supplier through detailed supplier qualification analysis.
Partner with research and design teams to test new raw materials and technologies applicable to drive the business forward.
Develop a short and long-term supplier matrix strategy.
Costing and Contract Management - Lead multi-million dollar deals that are strategic in nature and that have global impact.
Understand the technical requirements of our partners and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of procurement and supply chain activities.
Negotiate all aspects of the vendor relationship including costing, payment terms, termination, warranties, maintenance and support, and contract terms.
Understands Amazon standard and existing contracts with suppliers.
Review existing contracts to identify unfavorable business terms.
Draft work orders that define all unique, project-specific terms.
Lead contract review sessions with internal and external stakeholders to finalize terms.
Conduct data-driven quarterly business reviews with supplier and Amazon leadership to drive necessary business improvements.
Build equipment and wireless supplier Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on internal and external business needs.
Partner with safety, compliance and social responsibility teams to establish and document supplier requirements.
Build equipment purchasing, delivery and installation plans by working with our global planning teams.
Provide on-going customer support to external and internal customers, and act as a liaison, resolving any issues that may arise with a contract or supplier.
Keys to success in this role include exceptional analytic skills, judgment, and communication skills.
The candidate needs to be able to extract insights from data and be able to communicate clearly appropriate triggers and actions.
Candidate will be focused on procurement management of raw materials and equipment.
Candidate will be the procurement advocate for all tools and process development.
Candidate must have the ability to build and communicate complex procurement/sourcing strategies with recommendations for senior management.
Candidate must be capable of managing multiple complex negotiations at one time.
