TMX Finance is currently seeking a Project Accountant I to join the Corporate Accounting team located in Carrollton, TX with a solid understanding of GAAP and SOX to play a key role in the accounting flow process when new products are devised.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Play a key role in the accounting flow process when new products are deriveProvide comprehensive documentation for new products and ensure documentation is configured consistently and accurately and in accordance with GAAP
Provide overview of new products to relevant accounting management
Discuss issues with accounting for new products as discovered and ensure all are corrections are appropriately logged
Provide support once products are in production and knowledge of accounting is necessary
Meet deadlines set by project leaders
Ensure a comprehensive set of procedures are present for all TMX products
Interface regularly with project management and Assistant Controller
Ensure the financial impact of change orders are reflected appropriately
Provide ongoing review and monitoring for projects in development
Work with other areas of accounting, IT and operations to ensure revenues/costs are appropriately reported post implementation
Ability to travel to the Savannah, GA office if the need arises (very minimal if that)
Specific knowledge, skills and abilities:
Bachelor''s degree in Accounting is required
3 to 5 years of non-management experience
Certified Public Accountant designation is a plus
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access;
Experience with Cognos is a plus
Experience with Great Plains a plus
Ability to work with minimal supervision, to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects
Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent technical, oral, and written communication skills
Standing, walking, sitting, repetitive movements and use of mechanical controls, such as keyboard, are frequently required.
