Cornerstone Assistance Network wants to place an Organizational Development Associate VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) member at the Amvensys Foundation in Carrollton (www.amvensys.org).
Volunteer Position Start Date - End Date: 02/02/2015 - 02/05/2016
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week
The Amvensys Foundation was founded in 2011 to alleviate poverty and homelessness through education. In an age of a fragile economy and heightened risks of poverty and homelessness, the Foundation focuses its efforts and funding on education for disadvantaged youth so that they can sustain good lives through good jobs.
As an Organizational Development Associate VISTA member, you will stabilize and expand the organization's fundraising program through the following duties:
1. Assisting the board in choosing a comprehensive relationship management system
2. Researching and presenting new funding sources and applying for that funding where appropriate
3. Coordinating the Foundation's monthly giving program and presenting new and innovative fundraising events
4. Creating and funding a paid internship program for college students who have struggled with poverty and/or homelessness
5. Creating a Community Advisory Group which will meet quarterly and provide feedback and suggestions on the operation of the Foundation
Required Skills: Non-Profit Management, Social Media, Fund raising/Grant Writing, Youth Development, Team Work, Public Speaking, General Skills, Writing/Editing, Computers/Technology, Education, and Recruitment
