Overview
Job Purpose
Responsible for coordinating the successful planning and execution of large scale and complex implementation projects. Will have primary ownership of the coordination and completion of all activities required to complete assigned projects for top tier customer accounts, as well as infrastructure deployments and integration projects within the State Department of Corrections, Mega-County, and multi-site project domain. Project activities include, but are not limited to: budget planning and management; requirements management; stakeholder and customer management; human resource coordination and scheduling; material requisition and shipping/delivery; telecom provisioning; quality management; and other essential project management duties. Will capitalize on training and education, project management experience, team working skills, and industry knowledge to effectively manage assigned projects
Responsibilities
Principal Accountabilities or Duties:
Responsible for RFP support activities, including: the analysis of requirements; expert opinion and recommendations for project/team related responses; development of complete project plans; and creation of detailed project schedules.
Will act as the primary customer contact and Securus Operations representative for all large scale and complex implementation projects, including: State Department of Corrections; multi-campus, and mega-county implementation projects.
May be required to travel to on-site customer meetings, or perform project management duties on-site at the customer locations during critical stages of the implementation projects.
Must be capable of effective verbal and written communication, including meeting facilitation and the preparation and delivery of presentation materials.
Will be responsible for stakeholder management, including the execution of comprehensive communication plans.
Responsible for planning each project based on defined requirements and success criteria such as time, cost and quality standards.
Will be responsible for managing the project budget through time management and risk management.
Should identify, log, analyze and manage potential and actual risks, taking corrective action by tackling day-to-day issues head on and reviewing how more serious risks might impact scope, schedule, quality and cost.
Identify where and when management of issues and risks or accommodating altered requirements will involve extra time or extra resources.
Will identify the need for resources, and should subsequently take on the management of daily tasks and project responsibilities in relation to the resources available to the project.
Will operate in a matrix environment, and will be responsible for managing the action items and deliverables for each project, and effectively communicating the progress and any potential personnel issues to the appropriate personnel managers.
Responsible for bringing the project to a close, which will include obtaining customer acceptance and capturing and using relevant lessons learned.
Must thoroughly understand the technology being used in order to understand and question requests coming from specialists /technical staff and to evaluate what is reasonable or possible.
Must have Microsoft Project software knowledge for creating project plans.
Must have an understanding of Securus methodologies, vision, processes and standards and ensure that all project team members understand and follow these practices.
Responsible for the project's commitment to quality as defined by management and company quality standards.
Must have the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
Mentor and coach other project managers in process and quality relevant to day to day tasks and procedures.
Required to work 9
hour working days to fulfill all business requirements and duties.
Required to have internet access at home for offsite and inclement weather situations.
Business Environment
Implementation works directly with Sales, Operations, Technical Support and Securus Customers to coordinate and execute the delivery of features, products, and inmate calling systems. The successful coordination of cross departmental activities is required to complete the Implementation project and is essential to a flawless product delivery and customer satisfaction.
The Sr. PM must maintain a positive attitude with a sense of urgency while understanding the balance between budget, timeline, and quality while working multiple projects at the same time.
Latitude or Decision-making
The Senior Project Manager - Implementation must have an in depth understanding of the goals for each project as well as a comprehensive understanding of the various project and business dynamics.
The Sr. Project Manager must have proven ability to make effective decisions along the course of each project.
In many cases, the Sr. Project Manager will have full reign over the decisions to be made during the course of the project. However, there will be times when the Sr. Project Manager must call upon other resources in order to understand the options and how each decision could affect the outcome of the project.
It is crucial the Sr. Project Manager fully understand the delineation between decisions to be made alone as part of the project scope and decisions that require a committee review and agreement before moving forward.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
PMP or equivalent certifications
Minimum of 6 years proven experience in Telecom industry and/or experience working with the delivery of CTI and/or VoIP infrastructure.
Minimum of 6 years proven experience in project management leading team members through a variety of project plans, both large and small
Experienced in scope of work analysis and cost and quality mitigation
Experienced in comprehensive communication plans and execution of project plan stages
Comprehend contract language, requirements, and stipulations
Intermediate understanding of finance and accounting principles
Demonstrates leadership skills, communication, analytical and problem solving skills, detail oriented
Demonstrates ability to effectively employ both short term and long term project planning skills
Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
Ability to manage up to 40
projects simultaneously
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, OneNote
Proven Track Record
Must be able to travel up to 25%

PREFERRED
